As you know, The San Francisco Giants have become the FIRST MLB team to create an "It Gets Better" video in support of our youth.  The "It Gets Better Project" was created to provide hope for the future to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered (LGBT) youth .  These LGBT youth are bullied each and every day.  Many of them consider or even follow through with taking their own lives.  They cannot imagine it getting any "better".  According to statistics: Nine out of 10 gay teenagers experience bullying and harassment at school, and gay teens are four times likelier to attempt suicide.

It's time to stand up for these youth!!!!  I BELIEVE in the POWER that The Oakland Athletics have to make a difference in the lives of our youth!!!!    Please Join me in asking our team to make an "It Gets Better" video.

I'm a huge life long fan of the team, I'm also a trans woman.

LGBT youth are all too often ostracized and bullied simply because of who they are.

This would be the right thing to do and would help to not only show solidarity and support to a much maligned segment of the population, but also help to show kids and teens that it truly does get better.

Oakland is in the heart of the Bay Area, where gay culture thrives more than most places. The A's, as a major community organization in this place, have a responsibility to support that culture.

Everyone has the right to their own opinion and lifestyle. No one has the right to physically or psychologically abuse another for their choices.
