Stop the discrimination of non-traditional school credits

    1. Petition by

Georgia Accrediting Commission- Non-Traditional Educational Centers

This takes away Freedom of choice for parents. Parents should be able to choose if they want to use a non-traditional educational center to earn high school credits or the public schools. This new policy takes away the choice and tells parents they can only use public schools.

I home school my child and it's important because Ga. supports Common Core education and not a Christian Core education. My rights to educate my child should not be restricted in any manner.

We should have the right to pick. Some kids do not do good in public schools so we should have another way to get them to get a high school diploma. Do you want the Drop out rate to go heir? I have a child that is on that line and I am doing all I can to get him through school. He has some learning issues and this is his only means of being able to pass and graduate. I am so tired of people making decisions for our children and not allowing parents to make some decisions that we know what is better for our children not every child is the same.

As a certified teacher in this state, I have seen too many students fall through the cracks and out of education because of learning differences that did not meet the "standards put forth or expected for inclusion in the program". These same students often, actually most of the time, ended up in the correctional system and out of our communities instead because of their lack of support. Many of these students were capable and should have been able to stay within the educational system. If you want GA to be a place where crime is less and where we are not in the bottom 15 in education, then you MUST address the issue of your standards for special ed as well as your acceptance of alternative means to achieve education.

It is our right to homeschool our children. Limiting homeschoolers because of the choice to do is not fair.

As a parent I want the freedom/ choice for each of my children!! This policy takes away a students option for the Best avenue for their education & future. It is NOT ok to discriminate school options for our future generation!!! Public schools are NOT the best for each and every student. Leave the options open for the parents of these students to make DECIDE!!!!
