Every year, thousands, if not millions of bands make songs about everything but Politics. Pussy Riot was using their creative outlet of Punk music to express their concerns in the growing political discontent of Russian Politics and Religion. Unfortunately, they were arrested for a public political protest. Help free these music artists from political artistic suppression and imprisonment.

Make you voice heard so that, we can free them, so the whole world can hear and support them again.

If you can also, please send an Email to the President of Russia asking him to free the girls.

Thank you for all of your time and considerations.

http://news.yahoo.com/pussy-riot-members-transferred-prison-colonies-103625384.html ----Dear supporters, these colonies that they are being sent to are nothing but hellish. These places are supported by Russia, and are known to dehumanize people to such a point that, they may in fact never be the same again -if, they survive. Also, these places are not monitored by the U.N. to any degree with great consideration to Human Rights. Stars, Celebrities, and similar took advantage of this terrible situation without properly seeking to remedy this situation -instead of helping, they hurt it. As much as people disagree, there is a correct way to talk to the Russian government and Law Bodies. If I could trade myself for their freedom I would, as I am no stranger to pain or loss of freedom. Please keep them in your hearts and prayers always. Ya Tibya Leblue Pussy Riot.

Pussy Riot members transferred to prison colonies

MOSCOW (AP) - A lawyer for the two jailed Pussy Riot band members says they have been transferred to prison colonies hundreds of miles from Moscow to serve their sentence. Mark Feygin said Monday that Maria Alekhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova were transferred during the weekend from Moscow prison, where they were kept since March.

    7. One released, more to go

It seems the court case battles on. One released, and others waiting, and, some still fleeing for their lives. This is tough, but I suspect this will become either a 'time game', or at some point, we 'might' see upper political action( I could only hope.). But, Governments do not respect artists as much as they say they do.

My opinion of this is that, 'It should have never happened'.

As always, everyone hang in there and continue your support. I do encourage support that is 'non-antagonistic'. I know that might not sit well with people, but essentially, we have 'two different groups of people speaking two different kinds of language, i.e. artists verses governments(courts).

I will continue to monitor this as I am able.

      Long Live Pussy Riot.

      A small victory.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Russian appeals court on Wednesday upheld the two-year jail sentences handed down to two members of punk band Pussy Riot for a protest against Vladimir Putin in a cathedral but freed a third member by suspending her sentence.
A Moscow City Court judge said the court was leaving the sentences in place for Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, 22, and Maria Alyokhina, 24, and issuing a suspended sentence for Yekaterina Samutsevich, 30.

P.R. we still stand with you. Here is some current news. I am still concerned that the media and other stars are taking advantage of a serious situation.

      http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/posts/la-et-ms-two-pussy-riot-members-flee-russia-20120827,0,3499258.story

While three members of the Russian punk collective Pussy Riot have been imprisoned on "hooliganism" charges, at least two others have reportedly fled the country to escape similar prosecution.

The charges stem from the group's February protest inside Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior, where five members of the feminist collective staged a performance-art raid tied to their song "Mother of God, Drive Putin Out."

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich have each been sentenced to two years in prison for the protest, which has been widely criticized as a transparent abuse of power and an attempt to silence critics of Russian President Vladimir Putin's government.

    10. Civil Unrest

      Charles Billiter
      Petition Organizer

Lately, due to this ever-going battle Pussy Riot's imprisonment has sparked the beginnings of what may lead to another Russian civil war. Due to world tensions abroad, I fear this may lead to other chain-reactions. Various groups, including hacker group Anonymous have threatened cyber attacks. In addition, sleeper cells of ex-Russian patriots are beginning to come out of the wood work in never before seen numbers. All of this is very close to how the Bolshevik Revolution started around 1917. To the people of Mother Russian, be strong and Zdrazvutiya.

    11. Pussy Riot jail terms condemned as 'disproportionate'

The women were sentenced to two years in prison for hooliganism.

The US and EU said the sentences were disproportionate. Amnesty International said they must be overturned.

Russia's Orthodox Church said the protest was a "blasphemy" but also appealed for clemency for the women.

The sentences were handed down in Moscow by Judge Marina Syrova, who found Maria Alyokhina, 24, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, 22, and Yekaterina Samutsevich, 29, guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred.

She said they had "crudely undermined social order".

The women said their protest, in the Christ the Saviour Cathedral in February, was directed at the Orthodox Church leader's support for Mr Putin, who two weeks later was elected for a third term as Russia's president.

    12. Pussy Riot members sentenced to 2 years in prison

My Perspective: In every way I have supported them to the best of my ability. I am highly saddened that the Russian Government and legal system has allowed this. I still support Pussy Riot and leave this petition up. 2 years to go, I still stand with you Pussy Riot.

      From the Associated Press
      August 17, 2012, 7:10 a.m.
A Moscow judge has sentenced each of three members of the provocative punk band Pussy Riot to two years in prison on hooliganism charges following a trial that has drawn international outrage.

Friday's sentence comes amid a wave of protests around the world in support of the feminist rockers.

The judge said in the verdict that the three band members "committed hooliganism driven by religious hatred" and offended religious believers.

The three were arrested in March after a guerrilla performance in Moscow's main cathedral calling for the Virgin Mary to protect Russia against Vladimir Putin, who was elected to a new term as Russia's president two weeks later.

A perspective from the petitioner: I had been following this since the beginning when researching news on non-commercial channels. Now, it seems to have become a bandwagon for commercial success and branding. I am not saying that the attention to the situation is bad, but I feel there are some who are using this bad situation for 'self exposure'. Verdict is set for Aug 17th. These girls are looking at 7 years of hard time in a Russian Prison System -which is no joke as compared to some supporters whom I feel are not realistically approaching this issue.
