It's been more than 7 years since Floyd County employees have received a merit pay or basic cost of living increase. The result has been "devastating" in effort to maintain staff and morale. - Sheriff Tim Burkhalter

More than 47 vehicles will have more than 200,000 miles by 2014.

It’s time we send a message to the Floyd County Commission that our hard working law enforcement officers deserve better pay to better serve the community for our protection and safety.

Floyd County Commissioners: Please provide the Floyd County public service with a cost of living increase, jail upgrades, and new vehicles.

We need to vote those people out that don't care anything about the Sheriff and his employees just because the can't control him like the county police.

My husband and I both work, shop, and bank in Floyd county and we actually live right at the Floyd county line. Any personnel that protects our life and safety deserves to receive annual raises if they are doing their job correctly and if not then they do not need to be on payroll anyway. When you have good staff then you strive as an employer to pay them for a job well done so that you have content, committed employees.
