Compensate Barney Brown For his 38 Yrs of Wrongful Imprisonment

    1. Barney Brown
    2. Petition by

      Barney Brown

      Hollywood, FL

Barney Brown 38 yrs of wrongful imprisonment is the ongest in the history of the United States of America. His wrongful imprisonment at age 14 for a crime he did not commit is one of the most grievious injustice and cruelest punishment to a child.
In September 2008 Barney Brown was exonerated and set free but not compensated by the State of Florida. He was not even given an apology for the pain and suffering. Compensation would send a clear message that such human rights violations are unacceptable.

Because this man was incarcerated instead of learning the skills necessary to support him and his family. He was robbed of all the best years of his life. He is probably to old to start a family. Tragic! the justice system ruined his life I think yes he should be compensated.

Florida needs to learn from it's mistake. Florida took the childhood from this man, and just because he was released doesn't make it acceptable when he was innocent in the first plac.e
