Fight Voter Suppression in Florida

The Republican-led Florida Legislature just passed a terrible bill that will make it harder for people to register to vote and limits early voting. It tightens rules on third-party registration. It decreases the number of days for early voting. It prevents people from changing their address right at the polling station.

This bill is so obviously a way for the GOP to make gains in next year’s election because it targets voters who are likely Democrats.  This is pure, unadulterated voter suppression and we can’t let it happen.

We have only one chance to stop this bill, and it’s right now.

Governor Rick Scott could sign this bill any day now, so we have to move fast. Call him at (850) 488-7146 and demand that he veto this blatant affront to voters’ rights.

By tightening rules on third-party registration, decreasing the number of days for early voting, and preventing people from changing their addresses at their polling locations, HB 1355 creates hurdles for potential voters while doing little to address the fraud it is supposedly aimed at reducing.

This bill is voter suppression, plain and simple, and we can't let it happen.

This is unconstitutional to the Voting Rights Act and the First Amendment Freedom of Expression in the Bill of Rights! I registered to vote and voted for the first time. I am proud I can vote. We all have the right to be represented fairly and have the opportunity to participate in our democracy!

I join the DGA in opposing the elections bill recently passed by the legislature.

Hey, GOP idiots. This will not help you gain votes, it will make you lose votes becuase it will piss people off and as a result they will not vote for you. It frightens me that we have people in office that are this unintelligent that they couldn't point this out for themselves.
