Ferret Legalization Legislation for 2013

California is one of only two states to prohibit ownership of domestic ferrets, Hawaii being the only other state. This despite a preliminary Environmental Impact Report (California State University, Sacramento 2010) and California Environmental Quality Act checklist clearly showing ferrets pose no threats as mentioned by the California Fish and Game Department.

Our beloved furchild "Woozle" was put to sleep this past week end due to complications from un-needed surgery. We need vets who know the proper treat ment for our little furry ones. We have cried hundred of tears over his loss. Dam the vet that misdiagnosed him.

I love California and have had some job opportunities come up there - but what am I to do with my fuzzchild? I want to be involved in making changes, so all in California can live without fear of loosing their furchildren, and have easy access to veterinary care for them.

I believe in personal freedom and as long as this animal is no danger to others/the environment and the environment is no danger to this animal, they should rightfully be owned by people of interest

I've been surrounded by ferrets my whole life and know how amazing they are to have as pets.
