Fans petition for COREPLAY's Chaos Chronicles to be completed as originally intended.

    1. Petition by

      Greece

Chaos Chronicles would have been ready for release this summer had development not stalled. We have neither a clear view of the reasons behind this turn of events, nor do we want to point fingers and blame any of the involved entities. We do however want to see development resumed and eventually completed by the current development studio, as they created a game that may sound similar to others in its enticing for genre fans aspirations, yet is also unique and not in any way redundant. Through this petition, fans not affiliated with any of these companies wish to ask those with enough power to influence proceedings, to please do so with the best interest of this game's many existing and future fans in mind.

bitComposer Games is an independent publisher of PC and video games with its head office in Eschborn, near Frankfurt and was founded in March 2009.

COREPLAY is an independent game developer located in the city center of Munich, Germany. They want to develop high-quality games that stand out.

Chaos Chronicles combines the traditional turn-based roleplaying games with a state-of-the-art graphics engine and a dense atmosphere. The aim is to revive the classic western party-based fantasy RPGs of the 80s. Games like Phantasie, Pool of Radiance, Ultima, Wizardry, Bard’s Tale were part of many childhoods and now it’s time to create a new title offering the experience those excellent games delivered!

In response to bitComposer Games' previous claims COREPLAY have finally sent out an official statement of their own, clarifying their side of the story. Unfortunately there are text limits on petition news posts so you will have to click for the full statement as it was sent to me.

With that, there's unfortunately no reason for the petition to continue.

Let us hope future CRPG projects fare better and revitalize the genre.

There's still no sign of the COREPLAY official statement they promised so hopefully an interview with them is in order as well.

bitComposer Games issued an official statement. Sadly, there seems to be a legal impasse that bitComposer Games claim to have done everything in their power to overcome. It seems that the other involved parties will have to be willing to comment for more light to be shed on the matter. Unfortunately there are text limits on this website so you will have to click for the full statement as it was sent to me.

Update: an official statement by COREPLAY will be sent out soon.

The petition for the continued development and eventual release of Chaos Chronicles has now been signed by more than 500 people. Good job everyone and remember, all we fans of role playing games can and should do is talk about the game and share the information with everyone we know. Raising awareness is a priority. We still don't have official reports but by the time we do it may be too late to change things for the better, so keep it up!

Because almost nobody makes games this way anymore, for us really aged old-school dnd fans so get on with it because it's too late for me to learn programming.

Because i love the style of the game. This is something the gaming world doesn't see a lot of anymore, and it would be sad to bury a game trying out that style so close to development completion...
