Stop forcing business page owners to pay in order to reach their fans

Facebook has always been a free social networking site and a way for business owners to expand their business. Since Facebook has become a publicly traded company we business page owners have noticed a LARGE drop in the percentage of fans that our posts, ads, and pictures are reaching. Facebook has added the "promote" option to our pages so we can choose to pay in order for more of our fans to be reached. This is unacceptable. As a free social networking cite we shouldn't have to pay to reach our fans.

"News"feed is now becoming advertising and no longer "news". If we want to pay to promote our pages through Facebook ads, thats fine. But we shouldn't have to pay to promote our newsfeed to our fans!

      When Facebook Pages were developed, it was the great leveling ground. It was what allowed my tiny company, Do Good Social, to get the same access to people who care about my brand as Coke or Chrysler has to theirs. It was what made Facebook Awesome! Facebook lost it's AWESOME! Please bring it back. Small business is the backbone of our country. Don't break our country's back.

      I'm a small business owner and Facebook is killing my home base business by making me pay for my fans to see my products!

      why ruin something that was working just fine with out those Added features and why are you trying to ruin something that has worked for everyone since this has started... Take it away and go back to being a free website like you say you are...

      I'm signing in support of a non-profit cat rescue that relies heavily on Facebook to reach potential donors. This move penalizes non-profit charities. At the very least, there should be no charge for reaching people who have already "liked" a business or non-profit page. It would be even better if non-profits weren't charged at all to reach fans and potential fans.

      I'm the co-owner for a small business and have been wondering why it seems lately that not as many of our fans are interacting with our posts. We've always been careful never to make too many posts, we only share things we think are valuable. It used to be a great way to connect to our community, I am sad to see Facebook go this route. I am afraid this means we will not bother putting in as much effort into our page, and move away from Facebook onto better services that appreciate all their users, not just the larger corporate ones that can afford their advertising.
