Outlaw Leaf Blowers

    1. Petition by

      Leif Haterson

      Lexington, KY

-Noise pollution (above 95 decibels)

-Combustion exhaust in the air

-It blows toxins in the air that were settled on the ground such as mold spores, fecal matter, dust, pollen, pesticides, chemicals, and other debris which are harmful to people and pets.

Use of these machines can increase, the number and severity of asthma attacks, cause or aggravate bronchitis or other lung disease, and reduce our ability to fight infections.  The last thing we need is our borough councils sponsoring reckless man-made pollution caused by these blowers, which can cause severe lung and respiratory problems, allergies and other organic dust problems.

      "Bring back the straw broom, and employ more workers. That would be a positive solution. And business owners could be encouraged to sweep the front of their own buildings. It would take them all of 5 minutes each."

      Yes, the COMMON-SENSE, LOW-TECH Solution!!!

      Mechanizing EVERYthing WASTES FOSSIL FUELS! {Not incidentally, it enriches the Corporations too!}
