As an integral part of the visitor experience the hilltop safari is not only vital for those who need it, but it's fun for those who love it!

The management at Edinburgh Zoo have seen fit to decommission the hilltop safari, citing they need 'outside investment' to make it viable. Profits running into the £millions and an internal sponsorship department mean the only reason a service doesn't exisit is because management don't want one.

Members and visitors alike have a right to demand this service is reinstated

Edinburgh Zoo safari bus axed amid costs row

Edinburgh Zoo's animal lovers are sending out an SOS - to save their "endangered" hilltop safari bus. The vehicle, the last of a fleet of three, was used by the young and elderly alike to take visitors up the steepest hill in the site, allowing them to see many of the animals along the way with minimal exertion.

A really valuable service for elderly, families and disabled visitors. The drivers are brilliant, helpful and knowledgeable - making a visit to the zoo all the more special

Having a disabled child who enjoys the zoo but is unable to walk long distances and hills. The safari bus is an invaluable service. We certainly won't be back if it is stopped.

Previously a member of the zoo, previously a volunteer at the zoo, visited so many times I feel I should perhaps pay rent... The safari is, and always has been a service not an attraction. The animals are the attractions but many people, for reasons of age or health or the desire to see the zoo and not break out in a sweat would like a service to facilitate their viewing of those animals.
