Eating meatless meals will help improve your health and benefit the environment!  It is a well known scientific fact that most chronic diseases are rooted in poor nutritional habits.  Eating more plant-based foods is an important practice in disease prevention. Additionally, eating plant-based foods will improve the environment.  According to information on the website (see, "If every American skipped one meal of chicken per week and substituted vegetarian foods instead, the carbon dioxide savings would be the same as taking more than a half-million cars off U.S. roads."

I am currently vegan, but the change does take time. Trying to eat less meat a few days a week is a great start to ending animal suffering, human health problems such as high cholesterol (no cholesterol in plant-based foods,) and global warming. It's a win all around!

I have been a Pesce-Vegetarian for a little over 1 month.  It was actualy very easy to do, and I feel much healthier!  Eventually I will give up fish as well.  I am happy to sign this pledge!

Being a vegetarian I am of course happy to make the pledge  - but most importantly the reason I have done so is to  now share it with others who I know still indulge in the flesh of animals
