As soon as Governor Jerry Brown signed the online sales tax bill into law, Amazon.com ended advertisement relations with 10,000 Internet business partners in California – in attempt to avoid adding sales tax on purchases from customers in our state.

We all love shopping online, but in these hard economic times everyone needs to pay their fare share, especially since Sacramento has drastically cut state spending in order to close a $26 billion budget gap, eliminating funding for public education, vital services and programs.

We can’t let corporations get off the hook. Should we really support a company who flees the state when times get tough?

That’s why we’re asking you to stop shopping at Amazon.com until they stop trying to shortchange California. Sign our petition today.

Because we should not support businesses that do not support California, and this is another reason why the precedence setting Twitter deal was BAD!
