Do not allow NC Judge to take Alaina Giordano's children just because she has cancer!

Do not allow NC Judge to take Alaina Giordano's children just because she has cancer!

My sister, a loving and devoted mother,  lost custody of her children last Monday due to the fact that she has cancer.  The North Carolina Judge stated that she was uncomfortable not knowing how long Alaina had to live.  So she must give up FULL CUSTODY to their father.  He moved to another state months ago and was never more than a weekend dad at best.  The children do not want to go live with him, uproot their lives and most of all leave their mother.  They are Sofia, age 11 and Bud, age 5.  Please help us to get this story out so my sister has a chance to overturn this ruling and keep her children.  Please hear our voice!  She should only be fighting cancer, not to have to keep her children.

Thank You, Lauren Giordano-Kupillas

If a judgement forces her to give up her children because of her health, it will set a terrible legal precedent for ANY parent who develops a serious health issue or disability. In fact, the opinion that parenting might be compromised because of a health issue like cancer is discriminatory based on disability. Not cool.

I am fighting for custody of my granddaughter, who is in foster care. They will not let me have custody, and are planning on adopting her out to strangers, because they have concerns that I will let my daughter just take off with her. Which I would never do. My daughter is not even allowed at my house, because of her loosing her children, to CPS. Now I can not even see or talk to my Granddaughters, and it is breaking my heart. So I know how this mom feels.

Because no child should be without their mother just because they have cancer. Plenty of women have their kids and have cancer and to do this should be a crime and any judge that thinks this way should be removed immediately from their bench. If the judge has a question about the time she has left, do they really think that it will not effect her children not to spend time with her? I do not know the father and can only hope that he will be more than fair with visitation until her children are back with her. Not to mention, would a judge do this to a man who has cancer? This is against the Civil rights Act of 1964 (R), is discrimination and is a violation of equal protection under the law. Her Constitutional rights have been violated and that judge should be ashamed of themselves for doing this.
