5% of the country's health is up in the air because of ill-informed restaurant menus.

There is no cure for celiac disease, and as of yet, there is no known cure for gluten sensitivity.

NFCA's Amber designation is confusing to the entire U.S. gluten-free community. Gluten-free means gluten-free.

Sign this petition to bury the Amber designation for good.

Your next gluten-free meal should really be gluten-free.

Congratulations to all who supported the Ditch Amber (Twitter = #DitchAmber) online campaign - the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness has pressed pause on the Amber designation. Suspended today via a statement on their website, to be exact.

We are completely aware this task would not have been achieved without the action taken by the thousands who signed our petition, tweeted us, retweeted our comments and updates, spoke on Pinterest and Facebook, and emailed us. The tiny 1in133 team is humbled and thanks you, again, for supporting the action behind our gluten-free food safety initiatives.

      Sincerely,
      The 1in133 team

On day one, the celiac and gluten-free communities have clearly spoken - ditch NFCA's Amber designation for good. Due to an amazing uproar within blogs, on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, we are already closing in on our goal.

We have you to thank, but the work isn't done just yet. Just like last May when we collected 10,000 signatures to grab a hold of the FDA's gluten-free labeling standards, we are marching united to see safer food, for every eater. The Ditch Amber initiative was set up to protect anyone who orders gluten-free foods at a dining establishment for any reason, medically necessary or not.

Please share this page in email or Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. It's so easy! Our tiny team needs YOUR support to educate and bring awareness to this very worthy cause.

      Thank you,
      A Humble 1in133 Team

because I have a Gluten allergy and it is EXTREMELY difficult to live with normally and an amber designation would send teh wrong message to ill informed people preparing my food.

I'm gluten intolerant. When I eat out dI don't want to have to second guess the process. the meal is either GF or not. An AMBER standard is a NO. Anyone new to celiac disease has enough touble learning what is and isn't GF when shopping. Why make eating out more confusing with a MAYBE colored label?
