Create genuine dog exercise areas and so save the lives of adoptable dogs

Every year in North America millions of dogs and cats are killed in shelters as there are not enough homes. Too many are large and active dogs with insufficient ways to burn off energy and so they act out, becoming frustrated and destructive and are surrendered, often to be euthanized. Proper dog parks allow dogs safe opportunities to exercise, socialize and to remain loved and loving companions. The city of Prince George will not recognise the needs of large active dogs and their owners and has failed to offer adequate space for a proper dog park. Dog parks support saving the lives of companion animals through appropriate provision for their needs.  We need support to convince City officials that supporting responsible owners creates a better community.

A nation is judged by how it treats its animals and its elderly.  Gandhi

I adopted Hugo, my adorable dog, from the SPCA in Prince George. He, and other dogs like him, gives so much joy to peoples' lives. They need this.

Prince George is situated in an area with boundless outdoor recreation opportunities, yet it is the most backwards run city in terms of providing infrastructure for outdoor recreation for dogs and people alike. We need more dog parks, especially large ones where dogs are free to run off-leash and owners are able to walk and around and also gain the benefits of outdoor exercise.

Because I love my dog and this community has to be pulled into the present. Kicking and screaming if necessary.

this is a cost efficient way to encourage proper pet care, increased family activity and hopefully help reduce the number of animals we euthanize each year.
