Call Verizon: Tell them to Hang Up on Climate Change Denial Rally

Talk about crossed wires. As a self-proclaimed eco-friendly company, Verizon has decided to co-sponsor a West Virginia rally to deny global warming.  The "Friends of America" rally is organized by Massey Energy, a union-busting coal company that's a major force of mountaintop removal in Appalachia. Here's more information:

Lots of people have taken action, but these calls are critical.

Here's what to do:

1. Call 908-559-2000 (Verizon's executive offices - you can probably leave a message)
2. Tell them you have a complaint you want to register with the company. If you're a customer of Verizon, mention that.

3. Here's what to say:

"I just heard that Verizon is a sponsor of a rally THIS LABOR DAY in West Virginia that is denying the reality of global warming and obstructing climate solutions. This is outrageous and unacceptable. Global warming is important to me because XXXX. I demand that Verizon withdraw sponsorship of this rally immediately.

Unless Verizon pulls out of this rally, (choose whichever applies to you)

a. I am dropping my Verizon service (or will likely drop my service)
b. I am telling my friends to drop their Verizon service
c. I will never be a Verizon wireless customer

If that first number doesn't work, try these:

845-365-7700 Verizon Executive Services
908-717-3115 Verizon Escalation Hotline
240-568-2459 Verizon Executive Relations

908-559-7000 Verizon headquarterThanks so much!

Verizon has absolutely no reason to support Pro-Coal, Anti-Environment procedures.  It has no function except to line the pockets of Verizon personnel

An organization as large and multi-faceted as Verizon should be at the forefront of environmental conciousness. I have been a Verizon customer for many years but will reconsider if they continue supporting this type of activity.

Another spcial interest group that seems ready to sell the American public short.  Verizon needs to stick to making the air waves safe & fun & not full of noxious fumes!  They also seem to be failing to consider their very own childrens' & grandchildrens' right to breathe clean air.

oops .... hahahahah ... gotta look out for multitasking ... LOL
The previous comment belongs another pledge I was signing at the same time.

I will NEVER do biz with Verizon for ALL KINDS of reasons.
I do not have long distance phone service or a cell phone so if someone knows an address I can write to or better yet an email address I would really appreciate it.

In Taos at our recycling center we have what we call "The Free Box".
It began as a box where people exchanged clothes but grew so much that it now has it's own building and a small fenced in yard.
It has become very popular and we take a lot more than just clothing. ... TVs, electronics, kitchen stuff, toys, small furniture, bed clothes, knick knacks, you name it ... anything we cannot or do not use anymore that still has usefulness left in it.
When it gets too full, things are take down to Santa Fe and/or Albuquerque (not sure which) to places like Salvation Army etc.
I highly recommend this idea to all cities, towns etc.
It is a good place for us locals to get together and gab also.
I have met many wonderful people there.
