Demand justice against dog murderer Paul Detert: Impose the maximum allowable sentence against Paul Detert

Paul Detert is charged with 2 felonies for the horrendous murder of his dog. He allegedly placed his dog and a live racoon in a 55 gallon drum, placing a lid on it trapping them inside. This was apparently an attempt to train his dog to hunt coons! After the horrendous noises stopped he opened the lid only to have the tramatized and tortured dog instinctively bite his hand. He then allegedly chained the dog up and shot him in the head. We must demand justice for this dog! There is no place in our communities for such a sick and dangerous person! Please help be this innocent, terrorized dog's voice. Sign this petition and demand that Paul Detert receive the maximum allowable sentence!

No creature should be put into abusive situations, neither the dog nor the raccoon. Both are feeling living beings that deserve respect.

As someone who has previously worked in a wildlife rehab center, this is totally criminal. I was told that no one can house or have as a pet, any animal native to Wisconsin, which raccoons certainly are. Further, why on earth would someone put a dog and a raccoon in a gallon drum? Paul Detert is not only stupid and unethical, but a threat to the rest of society. He should receive the maximum sentence and be forced to work in a wildlife rehab as a volunteer to see how hard we work in Milwaukee to keep our native wildlife out of harm's way. This story is repulsive. As a mother, teacher, and foster volunteer at a local animal shelter, this person is someone I do not want near my children, my students, or my pets.
