Demand Allen West Apologize for his Sexist Attack on Debbie Wasserman Schultz

    1. Sponsored by

If you had any doubt about the War on Women Republicans in Congress are waging, wait until you hear about Congressman Allen West's threatening, sexist, and demeaning attack on DNC Chair and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

His email speaks for itself:

"Look, Debbie . . . let me make myself perfectly clear . . . you are the most vile, unprofessional, and despicable member of the US House of Representatives. If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up. . . You have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady, therefore, shall not be afforded due respect from me!"

Enough is enough! We can't sit by and watch such an appalling action from one of our elected officials.

Make no mistake -- the GOP is dead set on pushing their anti-woman agenda, and we've seen it clear as day in West's attack on Debbie. Debbie is many things -- a devoted advocate for families in Florida, an elected official, a mother and wife, and a leader in the Democratic Party. We need to stand behind her right now and demand Allen West apologize to Debbie and to the American people.

Speak out today and tell Allen West that his comments are unacceptable. Tell him you stand with Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz and demand he apologize.

Rep. Lois Frankel, Florida-22
I’m standing with Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz against your unacceptable attack.

Do the professional and appropriate thing and apologize to her immediately.

I grew up in a close-knit, opinionated family, and my grandfather, who was called Baba Charlie (one grandchild simply could not pronounce “grandpa”, and the rest is history), was my greatest fan – but also full...

I live in Florida (albeit in the 10th Congressional District, not represented by either of these two), and it really irks me to know that this man, who is supposed to representing the people of my state, can belittle one of his colleagues in such a manner. As Georgette said, there are so many politicians like him, and that in and of itself is just ridiculous, but to speak to someone working literally next-door to you like that is just abhorrent. Rather than being proud that he's the first African-American Republican to hold his office in this state in the last 130 years, he's instead going to be known for treating Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz in this hateful and disrespectful manner and (hopefully) being removed from office by the voters because of it. One can only hope...

It is obvious he has no respect for things he refuses to understand, such incompetence is what keeps the world from rising to higher intelligence. If he cannot use his words wisely, his actions will prove unwise as well.

Alan West is not a kind person. There are so many like him in politics these days. He needs to be voted out of office in 2012. Actually, he should be expelled from the House Of Reprentatives, but we know that isn't going to happen. I watched Jackie Spear on TV today responding to this matter. She is just the best! I hope more congresswoman get on the band wagon, esp. Republicans.

The oppression of women by some members of the Republican party is obvious in the words used by Congressman Allen West. Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz has every right and even a duty to speak her mind and defend the principles of the Democratic Party. She is a very professional person and her speach reflects this, in addition to reflecting her high level of intelligence. He is a bigot who does not think women are as human as men, and therefore, should not be able to achieve their full potential or express themselves in the same way men do.

Allen West is way out of his league. He cannot even come close to Congresswoman Wasserman Shultz's knowledge, insight, fortitude and commitment to her constituents. I am certain he made these comments because he has nothing resembling integrity or intellect in his own right. He's a pathetic coward. Who the h--- elected him!?! By the way, I have heard both Ms. Wasserman Shultz and Mr. West speak on many, many occasions, and I do know what I am talking about.
