Call on the Queen to bestow a knighthood on Stephen Sutton

UPDATE: I am sad to learn that Stephen passed away this morning, so I have now closed this petition. Thank you to the over 35,000 people who signed and agreed that Stephen is worthy of thanks by a grateful nation. My thoughts are with his family at this time.

Stephen is terminally ill and his dying wish was to make people aware of the horror of teenage cancer.  With dignity and wit, he raised OVER THREE million in DAYS.  He deserves to know that the nation has taken him to heart and that he will live always in memory for doing something amazing!  His legacy will benefit so many people, it is right and fitting that he be honoured in this small way.  I do not know Stephen but I wish I did.  He is a true hero and it would be an honour to address him as Sir!

I am sad to learn that Stephen passed away this morning. Over 35,000 people agreed that Stephen was worthy of thanks by a grateful nation. Unfortunately those with the power to make things happen decided not to do so. I will not insult Stephen by asking for any posthumous award and will now close this petition.

Rest In Peace, "Sir" Stephen. You changed the world!

Stephen may have passed but he still deserves the honour, even if it must now be posthumously

      Rest in Peace Stephen.

Is it not possible that a knighthood might be bestowed posthumously?

He deserve a posthumous award as he has done more for teenager cancer trust than anyone. Unfortunately this award will never bring back this inspirational young man.
