Incidents of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, are increasing faster than nearly all other cancers. It is the most common form of cancer in women ages 25-32 the exact age group reading Cosmopolitan. With the magazine's forward thinking Practice Safe Sun Campaign, we're gaining ground in raising awareness. Why not take it to the cover? Let's bring melanoma to the forefront for women in this country so it starts getting the attention is deserves.

Visiting a tanning booth just once a month increases your risk of melanoma by 75%. Melanoma kills one person every hour. Did you know these facts? Most people don't. It's time we started talking about this deadly disease affecting our young women.

With cases on the rise more and more women are undergoing surgery to have spots and moles removed due to presence of irregular looking spots. With these surgeries come scars, something most women become insecure about and try to hide. Let's show everyone how sexy scars can be as a statement of survival and change the perception to reflect what’s truly beautiful: strong women.
