Carry the Samsung Galaxy Note a.k.a. Galaxy Journal

Verizon Wireless has been groundbreaking in almost every respect, from outstanding customer service, to bringing Android to the masses, to being the first to offer cutting-edge LTE service. But competitors are catching up; AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint are all getting variations of LTE and OEMs are not playing favorites with regard to new devices. The Samsung Galaxy Note currently on AT&T is the next level of smartphone. With a 5.3" screen and the capabilities of both a top-tier smartphone as well as a small tablet (a tablet size that isn't currently represented in VZW's lineup, by the way), it's like nothing else out there. We the undersigned believe this device represents an overlooked market and a crucial opportunity, and we feel that VZW should capitalize on this opportunity by bringing the Galaxy Note (or Galaxy Journal, as it may be called) to store shelves with the big red V on it. Sprint's customers are looking for it too; don't be left behind on this one.

...and I had a VZW Customer Service rep get back to me:
"Currently, we do not have information regarding which equipment is being considered or approximate release dates, as this may raise expectations that may not be met." CS people are usually the last to know about these things so this shouldn't surprise anyone. At face-value, however, this tells me no decision has been made. I still have to dig for Samsung contact info but that email will be sent this week.

I emailed Brenda Raney, in charge of Handsets, Product Distribution, and Business, on 2/24. She got back to me and said in part, "I will make sure the team responsible for purchasing devices is aware of your request. " She does not appear to know whether AT&T has an exclusivity agreement for this phone. Next stop: Samsung.
Now's the time we have to come up with some real numbers. Those responsible for purchasing are watching this.

I got email addresses for the point-people for Handsets, Product Distribution and Business as well as Corporate Strategy and Policy at VZW. They will receive a link as well as a request for information RE what kind of business case (meaning "How many customers") we're looking at. We're closing in on the first 1000 as I write this; keep up the good work.

Because it's a fantastic phone and I'm tired of Verizon getting all of the 2nd rate phones. Like how long it took to get the iphone.

I really have had my eye on this phone and will be very sad if Verizon never brings it to us!
