On July 26th, Dana Rohde, the Vice President of the Flip Flop Foundation, will lead a team in the San Francisco Marathon to raise money for our organization.  We are asking you to read her appeal below and considering donating to this worthy cause.

Dear all,

I am running the San Francisco (Half) Marathon on July 26, 2009.  I am running to raise money for the Flip Flop Foundation.  The mission of the Flip Flop Foundation is to improve the health, hygiene, education, comfort and well-being of disadvantaged Zambian children. The mission is implemented by addressing both immediate needs (provision of basic necessities, including flip flops, clothing, food, school supplies, mosquito nets, health & hygiene supplies, etc) as well as longer-term needs (supporting organizations that educate and enrich the community through dance, drama, and team sportsmanship, and aiding in the provision of skills training for children and young adults).    We are currently working with 43 orphanages, community schools,  community-based programs, hospices, refugee camps, and other organizations supporting orphans and vulnerable children.
