Congress: Finish converting the US to metric.

    1. Petition by

      Helen Bushnell

      Lakewood, CO

Why should we convert to the metric system? Because it is simpler: everything is ordered in units of ten and the units intersect. The chaotic nature of the Imperial System makes business, manufacturing, foreign relations, and daily life more difficult. The United States is one of the few countries to have not converted to using the Metric System as our standardized system of measurement.

Congress needs to take action to take us into the 21st Century.

To:
U.S. House of Representatives
U.S. Senate
Finish converting the US to metric.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

I 3d print all the time now. Everything is coming up one measuring system vs another and then I waste material trying to print the object as people requested.

I've been back in the States for 5 years now, and I still check the weather in Centigrade.

I teach High School Science, and we always use metric in class. Why not make the switch and join the rest of the world?

Because it's about time this country stopped trying so hard to seclude itself from the rest of the world when it comes to measurements. Assimilate!
