The Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA, is an extreme bill with the power to make any website accused of enabling copyright infringement disappear by barring online advertising networks and payment facilitators such as PayPal from doing business with the allegedly infringing website, barring search engines from linking to such sites, and requiring Internet service providers to block access to such sites. Users who upload copyrighted content to sites such as YouTube could potentially be held criminally liable themselves. This bill, which will cripple the internet and infringes on First Amendment rights, must not be allowed to pass.

Because I sincerely believe that entire websites cannot be held responsible for user's mistakes. Plus, it has proven effective for the websites to take down infringing content at a right holder's request, anyway.

Because the knowledge is free, because internet is a place where you learn cool stuff, where you have a free accesss of a lot of informations, beacause informations, knowledge, videos, pictures, texts, ideas are free, because we are free citizens of the world, because we do not search any financial gain. Because a bunch of politicans and majors companies will not rule our access to knowledge and will not have to control our intellectual and cultural exchanges.
