Everyone likes the idea of a hotel. No one will like the idea of a failed hotel and its implications.

The City of Excelsior, Minnesota, The City Council and Planning Commission
Due to the lack of adequate feasibility information provided to-date with regard to the important Excelsior Hotel project, we respectfully call on the city to consider Mr. Lankford’s analysis or engage the services of its own hotel expert to evaluate the economic feasibility of the hotel—and to base any decision upon the expert findings.

I'm not against a hotel project that nods to the hotels of old both physically and in it's service to the city, but I ask the City Council to get a feasibility study done so that we can make sure it does not fail a few years in.

The viability of the hometown for the next 10.20, 50 years is important. we have 6 generations who have lived in and contributed to the development of this charming hometown .We do not need more apartments or condominiums should this venture fail ,or the possibility of it sitting empty. I am excited about the prospect of this Hotel for Excelsior but the city needs the information a feasibility study would provide!!

I served both as the Chairman of the Spring Park Planning Commission and as a Councilman. Spring Park approved two massive Condo projects that failed as condos, then converted to apartments.

The condo/retail development is an economic failure.

Lake Hotels have been proposed over the last two decades, fortunately for the tax payers, it was determined they would not be economical feasible which could then leave a potential burden on the community.

I'm very interested in the development of this site (including with a hotel), but I'm concerned about the long term viability of this particular project. What happens if it fails? Please take the time to explore the financials. Thanks!
