In November of 2012 the voters of Colorado Springs passed Amendment 64 by a margin of approximately 5000 votes. Amendment 64 clearly advocated regulating marijuana like alcohol which logically would include retail sales. On July 23rd 2013, despite this fact, the City Council of Colorado Springs voted to ban retail sales of recreational marijuana in Colorado Springs. We respectfully demand that the City Council respect the will of the voters and reverse its decision to ban retail sales of recreational marijuana in the city of Colorado Springs.

Retired lawyer sues city over its vote to ban recreational pot sales

A Colorado Springs attorney-turned-aspiring pot entrepreneur said Friday he is suing the city over the legality of its recent move to ban recreational marijuana sales within city limits. Dennis Johnson Sladek contends that language in Amendment 64 allowing municipalities to "opt out" of marijuana sales conflicts with his right to sell a legal substance.

I just moved here and ive been using it for medicinal purpises since 2008. I would love for it to be decriminalized; so money isnt always an issue between meds and food.
