Drop Murder Charges Against Justin Harris for Son's Accidental Death

    1. Petition by

Justin Harris, The father of a 22-month-old boy left day in a car has been charged with murder and child cruelty. He is being held without bond and is currently still in jail.  This is a horrible accident.  The father loved his son immensely. These were very loving parents who are devastated. Justin already has to live with a punishment worse than death. Sending what's left of his family in to bankruptcy to defend him against these charges is only bringing more hardship to a family that will never recover from the loss of a child.  There is nothing to indicate that the father intentionally left his child in the car, so a charge of murder is not appropriate.

Sign this petition to tell the D.A to drop the murder charges.

    1. Withdrawing Petition

Hello, I think that based on the recent developments this petition is no longer relevant. I still pray that this was truly an accident. If that is the case, the DA now knows that the community does not want Justin prosecuted on murder charges.

Because 18 yrs ago, I came within seconds of doing the exact same thing in Arizona. Taking my 2 yr old son to daycare was not routine and the route to work started in the same direction as my work just 2 miles from home. As usual, I start preparing mentally for work, wanting to get there on time etc... I was in my work parking lot and just happened to look back (maybe he made a sound or something) and realized "oh my God". It scared the hell out me. So this totally could have happened to me and I'd be willing to help Justin out with my sworn statement.

No evidence has been shown that indicates Ross knew he had left the baby in the car. It seems the police and DA rushed to act and are now trying to justify their actions at the expense of this man.

This man is innocent and made a terrible mistake forgetting his son was in the car seat. His behavior after he realized what had happened is due to extreme emotional trauma and grief and should not be misconstrued with the behavior of someone who had committed a premeditated crime. Please release him from jail so that he may grieve and get counseling for what will be a long and painful process.
