Give Winter the dolphin a better quality of life

Winter is a young Bottlenose Dolphin living at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. In 2005 Winter unfortunately became caught in a crab trap, resulting in the loss of her tail. She was moved to the aquarium and was then fitted with a prosthetic tail. Winter has become the local attraction in Clearwater, with a movie based off of her story.

We are asking Clearwater Aquarium to please turn down the loud music that scares poor Winter on a daily basis. It has been reported that Winter spends the majority of her time cowering in the corner of her tank, terrified. Although there are no specific studies citing loud music scaring or damaging Dolphins in captivity, it's common sense to know differently. Dolphins use echolocation to track down their food, locate their family and to communicate - this is all solely based on sound. Loud music penetrating a dolphins tank can cause havoc with their hearing. Help Winter have a better life, please turn the extremely loud music down, so Winter can swim peacefully.

What peace could you possibly have with foreign noise beating in your ears and heart while the familiar sounds of comfort are not there? Please 'tone it down!'

So, they make a whole big-time movie about this poor little dolphin, and still: with all the money it made, Winter is still living in miserable conditions. Look at her, crouching in the corner. She looks so unhapy and she definitely deserves better! What she has now is NOT good enough. I encourage everyone to sign this petition and share it with everyone you know.

It is inexcusable to keep any wild cetacean in captivity, but to keep them in inhumane conditions like these, without any way to escape the loud music and crowds, is horrifying. Please give Winter sanctuary and a better quality of life. She did so much for humans, via A Dolphin's Tale. Now we need to give back to her.

Please help Winter to live in a calm way and to enjoy her life as much as possible, given her conditions. It's so easy to help her, and best of all, what we're petitioning doesn't cost a thing. Please, turn down the music if you can't turn it off. Thank you.

Demonstrate compassion for your incarcerated dolphin ..a dub step carnival is not natures way. That atmosphere is absurd to even visit. Save it for the game room or provide your employee with block parties. Provide Winter with respect.
