City of Montrose, Montrose Municipal Court: File animal abuse charges against Rachel Daake

Rachel Daake claims to be a victim of a vicious dog. She is an animal abuser who punched, kicked, and beat a service dog with a pole. Now she has convinced the city of Montrose, CO that she is somehow a victim because the dog (Dutch) bit her in self defense. According to multiple news articles, "Photos of her injuries that were admitted to court showed that the woman’s wounds from Dutch's bite did not cause any tears in her skin". (http://www.examiner.com/article/save-dutch-the-service-dog-from-euthanasia).  Animal abuse is animal abuse. The law should apply to everyone! Don't let an Army Veteran who fought for our country lose his best friend without a fight.

Dutch is an AKC certified Canine Good Citizen, he has never been agressive,

This is important, no one should be able to file false charges and cause another to go into thousands of dollars in debt to right a wrong. Rachel Drake, did just that, she committed animal abuse, and then lied about it.

it is easy to accuse a dog, he Rachel? Be brave and admit your bad behaviour; if not you are a big coward and karma will come on you.

because she has abused animals in the past and her lies almost got an innocent and cherished animal destroyed.

She must be held responsable for her actions and misdeeds

I refuse to believe that it is acceptable to allow somebody to beat and attack a dog, and receive no punishment, yet condemn said dog to DEATH for defending himself from that attack in the only way he can. If this was a dispute between two people I would say that you cannot violently attack one person, then claim to be a victim when you (the aggressor) come out of it worse off. The same principle should apply to animals even more so, as they have no other way to respond to such an attack. They have no hands to push away an attacker, they have no speech to argue or to ask somebody to stop abusing them. When scared and abused, an animal will answer in the only way it can, and should not be labelled a dangerous dog for doing so. Labelling this woman who, at worst is an cold hearted animal abuser and is at best incredibly stupid and irresponsible (for trying to break up a dog fight with her hands, then beating a dog who has already been in a fight!) should be labelled a dangerous human, who is not safe or competent enough to be around animals as she obviously does not have the skills to deal with a fairly common problem of dogs squabbling and getting into fights. The solution: throwing water over the dogs. Not the solution: using your hands and then a weapon to batter one of the dogs then wonder why you get bitten!

I love animals, especially dogs. They are betterr than people.
