This is wrong. No one should lose thier job because they report being sexualy assulted. Especialy because someone takes thier penis and testicles out and puts them on you while you are at work. These types of things do not occur in a professional enviroment. And if they do. The City of Miami Beach should not terminate the victim of this crime and then use tax payer money to cover it up.

Were allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination swept under the rug by the Miami Beach Fire Department?

By Jimmie Davis, Jr. Normally when a floor is swept, a dustpan is used to collect the debris but occasionally the dirt is swept under the rug to conceal the trash. The Miami Beach Fire Department [MBFD] recently concluded an investigation surrounding allegations made against them by Brian Gentles, 26, for sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and a hostile environment.

Miami Beach Fire Department Is Aflame With Corruption and Abuse

Dawn was still streaking the sky over South Beach when FBI agents silently surrounded the art deco fire station on Jefferson Avenue. For months, they'd been watching a small, dapper firefighter named Chai Footman as he accepted more than $7,500 in cash and free drinks to protect popular nightclub Dolce.

Brian Gentles wanted to be a firefighter even before he arrived in America from Jamaica at age 12. There was something simple and noble about solving other people's problems, not to mention saving their lives. "I was fascinated by putting water on a fire," he says.

After all the scandals of public corruption, this one takes the cake. As a resident for the past 30 years, I'm now officially ashamed to reside in this town. I'm afraid to open a newspaper. What next? Corruption in the Parking department?

Injustice can never be overlooked, and wherever it flows, laws don't. In the 21st century, we're still dealing with this nonsense. " We are not any better a person simply by describing someone else as

      worse." Elizabeth Edwards

This is important to me because this should not be happening in the 21st century in America. Attitudes have to and must change.
