I just do not understand why someone can get fired for being happy. Makes Chattanooga have a bigger eye sore..... Add this along with all the shootings, killings, and gang issues. Which was more important? Seems like dancing in Chattanooga has more harsh consequences than murder!

Dancing is expressive conduct and should be protected by the First Amendment. I understand that freedom of speech does not include an absolute right to free expression within the scope of one's employment, but firing this man is appealing to the sensibilities of the lowest common denominator. His dancing is fun and amusing for the majority of patrons. Otherwise, his dancing would not be such a popular attraction for guests to the park. Taking away this dedicated ranger's livelihood to avoid a mere modicum of public scrutiny sets a dangerous precedent for the expressive activities of all government employees and is flat out unacceptable.

Park rangers promote open communication & interaction with the public. A dancing park ranger is awesome! He can only bring positive press to your city. One complaint is ridiculous & not enough reason to terminate a dedicated employee. PS: I am a Human Resources professional w 30 yrs experience. This was a huge gaffe on your part.
