Hydraulically fracturing gas wells injects known carcinogens into the ground and uses millions of gallons of our most precious resource, water. Aside from the potential of ground water contamination, recent studies have shown that air quality around these wells is extremely poor - 5 times the federal limit and puts us at a 66% increased risk of cancer. These wells should not be placed near our schools and homes for the safety and health of our citizens.

Maybe we can't ban fracking entirely, but until sufficient research is done on the long-term health effects of this practice, we need to step back and look at how close to our homes and schools we are allowing this to occur.
