Providing curbside recycling pickup services would increase the number of residents who are willing/able to recycle consistently, decrease the amount of refuse going to the landfill, and decrease the frequency of trash pick up services necessary.

Why wouldn't people recycle? It's the least anyone could do.

I actively recycle paper, plastic, glass, aluminum cans and other cans, as well as grocery plastic bags. I came from a city 22 years ago that had curbside pickup which was super convenient. My daughter and family live in San Antonio and they have curbside pickup. It's now time for Abilene to join the fight against pollution as well as too much garbage for the landfills.

Our plastics, especially, are overrunning landfills, and it is a disgrace that our trash is dumped in the oceans.

Recycling helps, but doesn't do everything needed. Primarily we citizens need to cut back on what we buy/dispose of, and simply SEEING our recycling helps people understand how much STUFF they have, and how much packaging there is. I

support not only curbside recycling, but fines associated with lack of compliance.

      Thanks,

      Karen Cukrowski

It's much needed and has become the standard among most communities over 100k in size.
