I would like to end child labour/ slave labour FOREVER

    1. Petition by

Every day, children as young as 5, are forced to work extreamly long days, 365 days of the year. Children who work havesting tabacco leaves, take in about 50 cigarretes worth of nicotine a day. This is just by picking the leaves, and every year over 80 000 children who harvest these leaves suffer from tabacco and nicotine poisoning. This is disgraceful, and it also means that these children are unable to go to school and get a good education. A child recives $0.25 a day for working harvesting the tabacco leaves yet the tabacco industry makes well over $300 billion a year.

There is also child labour in the cocoa industry with children as young as 5 having to work extreamly long days, every day of every year. This means that they are often unable to attend school. They have to harvest the cocoa beans using massive machetes, causing themselves all sorts of horrific and horrifing injuries. Right now there are boys aged 12 to 16 being taken from their families and are being sold in to slave labour in the cocoa industry. These boys are forced to work brutally long days under inhumane conditions and extreme abuse.

This is truly unfair. These children have a right to be free, a right NOT to work and a right to a good education. So please sign my petition and help these children have a childhood.
