The HSUS estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States, of whom approximately 3-4 million are euthanized! Unless you are "showing" a dog there is NO NEED to buy a family pet from a breeder. Reputable breeders will not sell to a puppy store. We need to stop breeding and selling puppies for the greed of humans and remember the innocent voiceless victims that are silenced everyday in our local shelters~~ ADOPT~DON'T SHOP!

Please stay tuned to Jericho the Phoenix's FB page for updates about the peaceful demonstration. Our goal is to encourage this business to work with us, not against us. We want to see this business succeed but not by selling pups, but by working with local shelters and rescues to help us in this daunting fight against overpopulation. Thanks for your support!

Don't shop, Adopt! For the thousands of dollars they charge for puppies from highly questionable sources (why won't they post the names of the breeders?), you could save the lives of dozens of animals on death row in shelters.

I hope that we can close down the puppy mills someday, there are so many wonderful puppies, dogs, kitties, cats that need to be adopted, that is all I have ever done. The puppy mills make me sick and those people should go to prison in the same size cage and conditions that they make these dogs live in . More education has to be done, people don't get the cute little pet store.

Read those statistics again ... and quite honestly, the kill numbers are lower than what I've consistently read ... READ them and really THINK about them! It is a horrific tragedy and we humans are totally responsible. It's time we ended the slaughter; in fact, it is gravely overdue.
