End our relationship with Chick-Fil-A

Our school prides itself in our support of its LGBT students and our tolerance of diversity in all of its forms. Time and again I have seen our students, faculty, and staff stand together to fight injustice. With all of this, it seems to mock our very sense of self to continue to financially support Chick-Fil-A when it so ardently insists on using that money to further causes which are unjust and intolerant.

Our community has voted in support of pro-LGBT legislation on the local level and voted against Amendment 1 on the state level. But this is not a political issue. We simply cannot tolerate intolerance on our campus. Chick-Fil-A is bankrolling discrimination, and we cannot help them do so and remain a campus proud in its diversity.

Future generations will look back at this as an important step towards the ideal that "all men are created equal". We must decide where they will find us when they do so.

Hey guys. Your support has been tremendous! Given the heated debate (if you haven't noticed it, check out the comments on this article in The Appalachian: http://theappalachianonline.com/campus/9068-should-chick-fil-a-be-removed-from-campus-some-students-say-yes ) I am planning on reaching out to the Chancellor immediately. It is earlier than I planned, but I would hate for him to hear too much from outside, misinformed sources before our meeting.
Therefore, we need to keep up the effort we've put forth. Continue sharing this petition with like-minded friends or relevant facebook pages. If you haven't yet, adding a reason to this petition for your signature is huge. Those of you who have already done this: thank you!
Going into our third day we reached 300 signatures. If we can keep this momentum going forward, we may well reach the 1,000 mark before I meet with the chancellor.
Stay strong and thank you for the continued support.

In just over 24 hours we have almost reached a quarter of my initial goal. When we reach 1000 supporters (enough to show a strong base, but by no means an end point), I will present your signatures and comments to Chancellor Peacock as well as the Food Services department. If no action will be taken at that time, I will increase efforts to make this petition as big as possible.
Regardless of where this petition goes in the coming days, I will keep all of you posted as to the progress we are making. Thank you all for your early support and your wonderful comments. Please continue to encourage your fair-minded friends to sign and share the petition as well. This administration has been slow in response to student concerns at times recently, but have shown that when enough voices cry out long enough they are listening. Thank you for adding your voice to this cry.

It is very important to show corporate bigots that they should show some manner of tolerance when their product serves the public!! Private opinion is one thing, but to publicize intolerance of what should be a civil right (NOT A RELIGIOUS ONE!) is disgraceful!

A company that uses patron’s money to support hate groups of any kind, is not only devious, it demonstrates that it is okay to promote bullying, encourage criminalization of a minority, and eradicate human rights. Such a corporation should not be allowed in a place of learning. Homosexuality is a natural part of human evolution, to promote hate against one class of Americans causes pain to all Americans.

i think any school that doesn't want chick fil a there in order to further support the diversity of their school should be allowed that.

As an ASU alumni I know we are a LGBT friendly community and that should be reflected in all university policies. Lets show continue to the country that we are ahead of the curve.

As a 2006 graduate, and former member of the ASU-BGLAAD chapter, I stand with the other petitioners to kick the chicken sandwich peddler out of the dining halls.
