Carvin is a multi-platinum and Grammy nominated producer and songwriter. Carol is a sultry singer/songwriter and is featured on records by Anthony Hamilton, Jill Scott, Musiq, Norman Brown, and Kindred The Family Soul. They are committed to giving back to the community. They realize the measure of a person’s success is how much one shares their success and knowledge with others. Carvin and Carol wish to share their talents by opening a performing arts school for grades k – 8 in the Philadelphia area.

We all know that children, who participate in constructive activities like the arts, simply stay out of trouble as they excel academically and artistically—a beautiful combination. The school will embrace the ARTS and develop talents in children in conjunction with their cognitive abilities to learn. Studies show that artistic expression promotes social and academic success. We promise to effectively blend and balance artistic expression with a rigorous academic curriculum and high student expectations so students will reach their full potential.

With your help, you would be a part of making this dream come true. Please sign this petition and share it with others. Let's put the ARTS back in the school and help our children be successful.

My son taught himself to play the drums, not because there was a lack of instruction at his school, but because of his commitment to learn. He is teaching children to play the drums to stress the important of the arts for his senior project at Masterman.

As a native Philadelphian coming up in the district 8 schoold district I remember how big of an influence was on my life and my education. Playing an instrument throughout my schoold years kept me focused and was an outlet for me. I think that all children should have that choice.

My husband witnessed the importance of the ARTS for students. We have a company he manages called FaceLess, Inc. We try to send the message that dance and the arts are a positive alternative to negative situations. Students are taught through hip hop dance and theatrical performances. Most of our shows are at schools in NJ and Philly. www.facelessinc.org
