Stop closing Queensland's Public Aged Care facilities

Campbell Newman and his LNP Government have announced they are closing State Government Aged Care facilities, displacing hundreds of frail, aged, disabled, and disadvantaged people, many of whom are amongst the most complex aged care residents being cared for in the State. This privatisation by stealth is causing massive disruption and stress to the lives of many staff, patients and their families.

The LNP Government have done no consultation on the privatisation of aged care residential facilities. Often private facilities don't cater for elderly residents with complex needs.

The LNP Government has made the decision to privatise on their purely ideological political policy, with no compassion at all for the hundreds of frail special needs people this will affect.

Recent statistics show that Queensland has an aging population and many reports indicate that we need more aged care facilities now and into the future, not less.

Stop the closure of our public Aged Care Facilities and Nursing Homes now!

Our nation is an ever ageing nation. These facilities are important to help and give families support and help for their loved ones.

This is just another example of the State and Federal Government abrogating The Tax Act. This is an example how there is no difference between the Liberal Party or the Labor Party. When did the Australian people have a referendum saying that these paid employees of the TAX Payers of Australia give permission for the Govts to privatise our services. This is another example of how they respect the elderly.

With the likes of this being privatised, we should all come & camp @ your home when we're old.
