Stop the eviction of Cousins Paintball

    1. Petition by

      Jonathan Favale

      Selden, NY

For 27 years, Cousins Paintball has been bringing happiness and joy to those of the Coram community. Forcing the establishment to leave will result in over 50 lost jobs, $8,000 to the town in rent per month, and an entire community left without their recreational fun in a safe and protected enviornment. Paintballs are completely non-toxic, non-caustic, biodegradable, and water-soluble. There is no harm in the enviornment or the animals in the area. We are asking that you do not evict Cousins Paintball from the area and use our tax dollars to remove our recreational fun on an activity that is harmless.

This seems to be another example of people with authority exercising it without also meeting their investigate the issues. Little research would have been needed to find that paintballs do not have a lasting detrimental effect on the environment.

(Stolen from fellow paintballer "H.P. Lovecraft" from the website just couldn't have said it better myself! --plus it's 4AM...)

I had the same reaction that Cousins had. Connie's statement is very misleading, and dishonest.

I checked out her website and you can see a pattern of this. One her website, she bragged about how she was able to shut down the Suffolk Trap/Skeet club. She used much of the same terminology.

So then up looked up the Trap/Skeet website and realized Connie was again being dishonest. Basically, Connie (and her cronies) didn't like the gun range, and reworked the zoning laws to make it illegal, and force them out!

Many of her policies are simply frightening. She is your typical big-government bureaucrat who thinks SHE knows what's best for the town, and those that visit.

Fortunately, as a public official, she is not immune from phone calls, and messages on her website, etc. Everyone should make themselves heard.

Paintball provides nothing but fun for people. it is a chance to get dirty and get close with friends and family. To close down cousins paintball would be absurd!
