From Petition Creator: Our petition was heard by our intended audience, the Obama family! We received a letter of response from Michelle Obama. Although Bo will not be able to visit us in Oregon, he has helped our fundraiser for shelter animals gain national attention. Spreading awareness and increasing support for our cause were the root goals of our campaign, and so this is a big success.

In support of helping animals in need:

First Family of the United States of America to bring Bo Obama, the First Dog of the United States of America, to Portland, Oregon, so that he may be the Grand Marshal of the 26th Annual Oregon Humane Society Doggie Dash on May 11, 2013.

Whereas Bo Obama is First Dog of the United States and is invested with all powers and honors associated with that office, and;

Whereas the Oregon Humane Society Doggie Dash is the premier event on the West Coast dedicated to helping shelter pets, and;

Whereas the Oregon Humane Society is able to find homes for 11,000 pets each year thanks entirely to public support through the Doggie Dash and other efforts, and;

Whereas Ramona, a lovesick Portland Goldendoodle, has sincerely proffered her paw in marriage to Bo;

We petition the First Family of the United States to bring Bo to Portland, Oregon on May 11, 2013, to be Grand Marshal of Doggie Dash, support shelter pets, meet Ramona, and perhaps find true love.
