I was physically assaulted by a white male employee at a Valero Gas Station in Houston, Texas on August 13, 2012 @ 9:00 PM.

I am a African American female and I do not condone violence and I should not have to be scared or pass up a location that is right by my house (though I will from now own), because of rude employees and racist antics by employees of Valero Energy Corporation.

I have created this petition, because I believe that what happened was wrong. I am also sending a letter to the Houston Police Department's Internal Affairs Division in regard to the police officer that came out on the scene and did not arrest the man that assaulted me (he let him walk away). Additionally, he did not view the video tape that documented the entire incident.

I have contacted the Valero Energy Corporation to inform them of what happened and that I will not sit back and let this happen to another human being.

I've stopped there hundreds of times on my way to vacations on the gulf. But I won't any more. I swear, the more I hear about Texas lack of justice, the more I think my friends and I should sell our properties there and stay away.

I'm signing because as a Houstonian we have to take a stand. I join my sister Kymberly because this can happen to ANYONE and it's time to use our God given voices to change things for the better!!!

I see a horrid pattern. It seems that Valero stations and their employees are under fire across the nation for deplorable acts such as this! In my hometown a man (who was a paying customer) was harassed and killed by a cashier and now this! THIS MUST STOP NOW!!!

President Obama is currently featured in a PSA about stopping violence against women. I stand with kYmberly and I stand with my president. The time for change is now!
