Recently, I was revoked of my membership of the Boy Scouts of America. The only reason this happened is because I am an atheist. I have spent 11 years of my life with the Boy Scouts. I have learned a lot. I just wanted to be Eagle Scout. Is that too much to ask?

I got a letter in the mail today from the Boy Scouts of America telling me what to do next to try to get back into the Scouting experience. I wanted to let you all know that I might be including some of the best responses comments in my letter, to show how many people agree with me. I will also include the web address to this page. Thank you all so much and have a wonderful day!

From an Eagle Scout: stop discrimination in the BSA. It is an absolute affront to everything the BSA and America stands for.

I'm an Atheist and I had no idea the Boys Scouts could be more close minded.

As a member of the Boy Scouts, I find their discriminatory practices towards homosexuals, atheists and agnostics extremely hypocritical. One cannot be morally straight, yet discriminate. If BSA does not stop discriminating, I will denounce my Eagle award in protest.

Hasn't been a problem for Dutch, Belgian and Czech Scouts and UK Guiding has seen sense in the past few weeks. Even BP wasn't too bothered- he himself wrote the alternative promise! Please reread your Scouting history books and look beyond the narrow horizons of the USA. Some countries are having far more fun!
