Please sign this petition to help preserve the arts, and to give artists a chance to thrive in an open and accepting community. These DIY locations are an important part of the area's subculture, which is important to the entire city! They make a formidable proving ground for upcoming artists and mecca of underground wisdom and ideologies. These places are part of what make a city famous, what makes a city rock! They make us proud to call this city our home. Places like this need to be able to continue doing what they do.

This is an important facet of Boston's culture. Places like this have existed for decades and are the only outlet for true public creative experimentation. They allow music and art to have an audience that most mainstream places would not accept. They are a cornerstone of culture.

I have attended and performed at these venues. I understand that value that these places have in our community and that they are safe, artistic, and valuable environments for our community to have.

There is a disproportionate amount of law enforcement being directed towards the issue of music being played in houses.
