There is absolutely not one good thing that comes out this annual "party." It cause the town to literally look like a garbage dump and is absolutely not what college is intended for. College is about learning, starting a career, preparing yourself for the rest of your life. Please help me change the town of Bloomsburg for the better!!

To:
Bloomsburg, PA Annual Block Party, Mayor Dan Knorr
Please consider helping us get rid of this event. It is destructive and unnecessary!

Sincerely,

I wanted to retire back to my hometown of Bloomsburg and in 2011 I moved there. I found the town to be in a terrible condition: no residential zoning, a main street that no longer resembled one of a successful town, and above all the damages to my car which were inflicted by vandels who were definitely immoral college students. The town is a shame. Whereas Lewisburg maintains a fine image, Bloomsburg looks like a slum town now. I chose to move back to Utah. Farewell to the once lovely town of Bloomsburg.

I live on the street right in the middle of the two major parties. The police give this avenue very little attention. Watching the happenings, you see underage drinking younger and younger every year and start to wonder if underage drinking is what the Mayor, and police support. The tallies for open containers is a joke, as I can spot the totals they come up with in an hour. Because they only answer to complaints, they will wait until someone dies and taxpayers will pay for it.

I own several properties in the town of Bloomsburg and most of my family resides there. I am concerned that catering to the "needs" of university students has made the town less family friendly.

It is bad enough there are drunk college students on the streets at nights on weekends we don't need a special day for them to get plastered and wonder around the streets. Why should the be able to wander around with booze in hands when there is an open contained law. THERE IS NO REASON WHAT SO EVER TO CATER TO THEIR DRINKING.
