The Gay, Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) has launched a new campaign, "Think Before You Speak."  The goal is to show how important the language we use is, and how everyday conversations can sometimes pack unintended, hurtful words.  On GLSEN's Web site, you can write your own mini-pledge, and agree to be an ally to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students. In becoming an ally, you promise not to use homophobic words and phrases – such as “that’s so gay” – and to educate others when you hear them being used. Once you’ve taken the pledge, invite your friends to do the same!

I want to start by saying I am an ally for LGBT students and I will support them to the fullest.People don't undertand that we are all different in many ways and that we are not all the same. They only think that being gay is immoral and a sin.but thier wrong.Thier is nothing wrong with being gay at all. They need to learn about gay life style and educate themselves more on the issue. They need to learn facts before they speak. We are all human and we shoud all be treated with respect and treated equally and all have equal rights.I want to say to my fellow gay LGBT students friends be yourselves and be who you are.Gay is beautiful no matter what anyone else says or thinks, its no different than anything esle.People who criticize us LGBT people then thier the ignorant ones. They have no sense and morals theirselves.hey need to be educated more.I support you my fellow LGB friends be strong and never give up.
