About 10 years ago, the Digimon franchise was one of the most appreciated in the world. The first videogame in the Digimon World series, published on PlayStation 1 on 1999, is still today one of the most loved games in the franchise.

Years passed, though, and for some reason Digimon seem to have lost their place in the Western market (first in the European countries, then in America).

Our online campaign, Operation Decode began as a simple Twitter campaign with the hashtag #operationdecode, then evolved (just like a digimon!) in a huge fan movement, involving also Facebook and this petition. Originally, our goal was to ask exclusively for Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode for 3DS, a complete remake of that first beloved Digimon World. Recently, Bandai Namco noticed our movement, seeing us as a campaign to check the general interest in Digimon games.

That is why, after reaching our 30.000 signatures, we decided to also include ANY Digimon games on ANY console, hence counting in the recently announced Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth for PSVita, that is slated to be released in 2015 in Japan.

Western branches of Bandai Namco seem to not believe in the Digimon brand anymore, thinking that it is only for kids who currently do not seem to be interested in Digimon. We are here exactly to prove the contrary: there is still a huge number of dedicated and passionate fans (also adult fans) all over the world who grew up watching those incredible animated series and that are itching to play new Digimon games again.

All the more so that the two games we are currently asking for, Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, are indeed not for children, but particularly indicated to young adults, who are exactly the demographic we represent.

What we ask for is Bandai Namco to listen to the voice of their Digimon fans worldwide and consider localizing those awesome games again, starting from the two most recent titles: Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode (3DS) and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (PSVita).

UPDATE: we entered the second phase of our campaign! In addition to signing the petition, please join us in our topics on the Bandai Namco Forums! Choose according to your country:

    6. DIGIMON All-Star Rumble being published on PS3 & X360 in America and Europe

      Francesco Haseo-san
      Petition Organizer

"There are few fan bases as passionate as Digimon’s. The fans’ campaigns haven’t gone unnoticed, and we’re truly amazed by the amount of support they continuously show to their favorite series. We couldn’t be more thankful."

These are the words used by Bandai Namco Games in their official announcement of DIGIMON All-Star Rumble, the new multiplayer party-arena game (along the lines of Rumble Arena and Battle Spirit)!

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbdqUsjEo1c

It's not exactly what we have been asking for, but we have finally been acknowledged, and this new game is a gigantic achievement!
With All-Star Rumble, Bandai Namco wants probably to test the loyalty of the Digimon fanbase, in order to decide whether it's worth for them to localize other, text-heavy (and more risky) games like Decode or Cyber Sleuth.

This is our chance to show our passion with actual facts: it's extremely important for each of us to SUPPORT this game as much as we can , to show Bandai Namco that they did a step in the right direction!
We will be covering DIGIMON All-Star Rumble (just ASR, from now on) on our campaign accounts!

During the last 24 hours, our petition had one of its hugest peaks in signatures! Yesterday, we were at 31.000, in this moment we just passed 36.000!

Thank you so much to everyone who signed, and please continue spreading the word! If we keep up this pace, we could reach (and better, surpass) 50.000 in a few days!

    9. Reached 30,000 signatures
    10. Operation Decode also asking for Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (PSVita)

      Francesco Haseo-san
      Petition Organizer

From now on, this petition is valid for ALL Digimon games in general, not just Decode for 3DS.
The main body of the petition may be subject to changes in the following days, but in the meantime please note that you can now express your interest in BOTH Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode for 3DS AND Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth for PSVita, which are the two most recent Digimon games that have been and will be released in Japan.
If you are reading this message from an email, you have probably already signed, so you don't have to do it again. Obviously, you are asked, as always, to reach as many people interested in either game (or both games) and invite them to sign and join us. Thanks.

    12. Operation Decode Phase #2.1

      Francesco Haseo-san
      Petition Organizer

It has been a long wait, but finally Bandai Namco America reopened their official community! And, who would've tought it, they even have a brand-new section COMPLETELY dedicated to Digimon games!

We seized the moment and opened an official request topic in their forum, too, exclusively for American fans! You can find it here: http://forums.bandainamcogames.com/showthread.php?14-Operation-decode-official-thread-Tell-nb-games-you-want-re-digitize-decode!

    13. Bandai Namco acknowledges Operation Decode

      Francesco Haseo-san
      Petition Organizer

We received quite a few answers from various Bandai Namco representatives regarding our campaign. It is obviously not a confirmation, but it is a very important achievement.

Please read our last article on OpRainfall to know more:

    15. Namco seems interested in Operation Decode.

      Francesco Haseo-san
      Petition Organizer

I don't know how many of you have been following the news, but some days ago a Namco Bandai PR executive, Joseph Walsh, answered one of our tweets:

"@OperationDecode @NamcoBandaiUK @Leearigold A LOT of love for Digimon. Interesting stuff."

      https://twitter.com/Joukisan/status/394792319821836288

Mind that the fact that we were acknowledged by a Namco Bandai representative is quite an achievement. It means that they know about us, and could be interested in listening to our requests if we keep on like this.

So, as always, spread the word about our petition with everyone you think may be interested in BUYING this game if it comes out. We have good chances to succeed, right now, so please don't give up!

Thank you for all the help you gave and that you'll give us.

Keep in mind that this is for non-American people ONLY. Since the NA forums are currently closed, American fans will have to be a little patient for now. But as soon as the forums will be available again, we will be doing the same thing there as well!
