Baby Emma's Law

To protect all biological fathers' rights, in the event of an unwanted adoption. In one specific case, John Wyatt of Va, lost custody of his daughter Emma because of unclear adoption laws in the state his daughter's adoption was initiated.
All adoptions should be initiated in the child's state of birth by an agency operating in said state.
The biological father, if known, MUST be notified of adoption proceedings by the agency handling the adoption within 3 days of the receiving an adoption request.
The biological father must be given a deadline no less than 30 days from the date of notification of impeding adoption.
With this law, it should be a considered a felony offense if a child is adopted-out and proof is provided that the steps were not taken.

I believe the biological father of a child should have the same rights to the child as the mother does if the father and mother are not married. I don't believe the child should be able to be taken away from either parent. I would love to see my granddaughter more than every other weekend and her mother too.

Adoption should be decided by both parents. If even one biological parent wants to raise their child they should be allowed to do so. Consider the emotional affect on a child taken away when they were really wanted.

My son Greg is going through a similar nightmare, my grandson was put up for adoption without any knowledge of his ex being pregnant or giving birth- he found out 6 months later and according to North Carolina "Adoption Law" he has no rights - he is in desperate need of help because it is one year and close to $100,000 later and has never been allowed to see his baby. His name was on the Birth Father info sheet and was crossed off and changed to another name (in different handwriting) This is legal? Anyone who can help please go to AFathersChase.com Thank you.

A friend of mine is fighting in court right now against an adoption agency who did not give him a chance to rightfully claim his newborn son. He had no knowledge of his son's birth until 6 months after he had been adopted. My friend has used all his funds and needs help fighting a company who crossed his name off the birth certificate. Go to https://www.facebook.com/AFathersChase for more information or if you have any way to help.

Because my son is going through the same nightmare- he wants his son - his name was on the Birth Father info sheet- scratched off and replaced with another last name - and this is legal??? He was never told about the pregancy or the birth and because he was never told he has no parental rights???? This is an injustice that needs to be corrected - Any help would be greatly appreciated -- Thank you
