The Australian Government have a responsibility to defend their citizens from judicially corrupt processes which can occur in the United States. The Government failed to ensure fair justice for David Hicks, and we are concerned that it is currently heading to fail again with Julian Assange.

The Australian Government must act now to seek public assurance from Sweden and the US for the following: that Julian Assange will not be extradited to America to face any charges for publishing data which was in fact leaked by another person.

We cannot risk having Australians seized for minor reasons and extradited for permanent punishment. Let Swedish officials interview A. at the Ecuadorian embassy. A. would only have to give a blood test if the Swedish girls had some STD, allegedly from him!

Any party, government or individual, should strive to uphold the truth, which goes by many other names, including 'fact' and, in particular, 'reality.' Living in a fantasy world ... is that not what those who are mentally ill do? The Australian Government should be striving to establish whether there is substance to any allegations against Julian Assange. Otherwise it simply looks like another political vendetta against someone who was attempting to facilitate self-determination for all.

It is a blatant disregard for human rights! It is absolutely disgusting that the governments of the UK, Sweden, Australia and others are supporting the US government in allowing for a citizen of Australia to be persecuted for exercising his right to free speech!
