Warren Buffett and Bill Gates recently launched the "Giving Pledge," which asks America's billionaires to donate at least 50% of their wealth to charity — an initiative that, if successful, would raise approximately $600 billion for nonprofits across the world.
Steve Jobs, worth $5.1 billion, definitely qualifies for the Pledge. There's just one problem — the Apple co-founder and CEO has no public record of philanthropy. As the 43rd richest person in the U.S., it's high time Jobs became a magnanimous philanthropist.
Jobs may be out of touch with making big donations, but what better time to start giving than the present, especially with 40 million poor Americans struggling to make ends meet? Tell Steve Jobs to join the "Giving Pledge" today and make up for lost time.
